Emcees at Cranberry Creek
Well hello!! We’re looking forward to working with you to make sure that the wedding is perfect for a wonderful couple. We recommend you printing this page for the day of the event to ensure that you have all information handy and it’s super easy to get a hold of us throughout the day with anything major!
Here are some requests/information for you:
Introduce yourself to us upon arrival please! We’d love if you could come and say hi to the venue coordinator when you arrive so you know what we look like and we know what you look like! The venue coordinator can usually be found at the bar at the start of cocktail hour, or just ask any staff person and they will know where they are.
Do Not Announce Last Call! This usually goes without saying, however it’s very important for our liquor license, unmanageable lineups and customer disappointment that you do not announce a last call at the end of cocktail hour. At the start of cocktail hour you can announce the time that cocktail hour ends if you’d like, absolutely fine! We just can’t have a last call announced as it’s not something that’s allowed at our site and when it has happened in the past often the emcee has done it after the bar is closed which just ends up with a lot of frustrated people! Obviously no last call at the end of the night too, however usually your emcee duties are done at the end of dinner so normally isn’t applicable to say.
Housekeeping Announcements! There are a few announcements that we’d love you to touch on when you start your Emcee role (please run these by the couple to make sure they are happy to have them all a part of what you’re saying as well as any preferences they have on when they are said):
Washrooms are located beside the barn on the path between the barn and chapel, and the accessible washroom is in the back room of the chapel. Please don’t refer to it as “behind” the chapel as people tend to head in many different directions trying to get there, just say in the back room of the chapel.
There is a smoking receptacle found at both the chapel and the barn, all smoking must happen around them and cigarette butts cannot be left throughout the gardens for obvious reasons.
Children must be supervised by an adult over 18 at all times while onsite, preferably a parent.
Transportation: Shuttle information if there is a shuttle for the wedding including departure times and/or Taxi information if there is no shuttle to just warn guests to call a cab earlier rather than later due to our rural location
This looks like a lot but should be quick and easy, the quickest way to say all of this is “Washrooms on the path to the chapel, accessible washroom in the back room of the chapel, smoking at smoking receptacles only, all kids must have a parent with them, don’t drink and drive!” + transport info.
We look forward to meeting with you and making sure that the wedding day is absolutely perfect.
